The corporate responsibility of Oriola-KD is administered by means of common principles of governance and operations, which also include risk management. Oriola-KD operates on the basis of ethical premises and observes good business practices.

Oriola-KD operates through its subsidiaries; hence, the operating permits required in its business operations are those of its subsidiaries. The most important of the official permits are those entitling Oriola and KD to engage in the wholesaling of pharmaceuticals. The company also has the various environmental permits needed for its operations.

In its operations, Oriola-KD’s goal is to be an economically reliable and respected employer and to have the minimum environmental impact.

Competent, professional employees are vital to the company's operations and the development and well-being of its employees are key factors.

In late 2007, Oriola-KD initiated a new corporate social responsibility programme used to allocate donations in a centralised manner to protecting the Baltic Sea: Oriola-KD is one of main sponsors of the Mermaid programme of the WWF.
