Sweden: Apoteksgruppen and Lloyds extend their contract with Oriola AB

Oriola AB continues to handle purchasing, warehousing and distribution of self-care products for Apoteksgruppen and Lloyds pharmacies. The new agreements are valid until 2017. The first contract was signed in 2012, when several chains found that they needed help from each other to build up a competitive purchasing and product supply. Back then, even Vårdapoteket (now acquired by Apotek Hjärtat) and Medstop (now a part of Kronans Apotek owned by Oriola-KD) participated in the cooperation.

Sweden: Kronans Apotek begins to sell Apoteket AB’s own brand

Apoteket AB was the first out with its own OTC medicine brand. The chain launched Apofri in 2010, today the most successful OTC medicine brand in terms of the number packages sold. Until now, Apoteket AB was the only one selling these products but starting from February those will be available also at Kronans Apotek.

“Apofri is a well-known brand with high quality and good price. It has a wide product range and they sell well at pharmacies,” commented Andreas Rosenlund, Information Director at Kronans Apotek.
